This one comes from way outside my usual lane: I’m a Miata owner, and I spent time behind the wheel of a 2026 Jeep Wrangler JL Sahara to see what the fuss is about. It’s a first-time-Jeep-driver review, so take the trade-offs below with that lens — someone used to a low, tight-handling roadster stepping into a tall, go-anywhere SUV.
The Trade-Offs
- Noticeable steering wander on the highway
- Tight cargo space
- A rough ride
- Wind and road noise at speed
- Just how tall the Wrangler Sahara really is
What Won Me Over
- Interior quality that genuinely impressed
- Go-anywhere off-road capability that’s legit
- A fun, playful Jeep community culture that reminded me a lot of the Miata scene

Despite the trade-offs, it’s a Wrangler I’d still want to own. If you’ve driven a Wrangler Sahara yourself — or stepped outside your usual car world and found something unexpected — let us know in the comments on the video.
